The outrigger canoe is traditionally rigged in Hawaii with only one ama rigged to be in the water.

The Holopuni OC3 Paddle incorporates reinforced iako mounts with the iako attachments raised an additional 3" on both the canoe hull and ama.
This provides for additional water clearance when paddling in rough seas or surfing.

Trampolines can be attached to the iako for hiking out, extra passengers and for sleeping and carrying gear.

A special attaching system has been developed for the Holopuni OC3 that is very strong and can be quickly rigged without the lashing of traditional canoes.

The laminated iako are much stronger than the older style bent or carved wood iako.
