The Raiatea to Taha'a leg has the OC-6s taking a course around the west side of Taha'a. This all lagoon leg is a 26 km sprint to be negotiated with the escort boats, coral reefs, and the shoreline. After watching the start of the race from the beach, we gathered our gear and headed around the east side of Taha'a where the winds were blowing nicely and the lagoon was clear of all other boats.
